A gift that keeps giving.

Establishing a permanent endowment in your name or the name of a loved one is a wonderful way to provide ongoing funds to Seattle's libraries. With this type of fund, a percentage of the earned income is used to carry out the purpose of the endowment while the principal remains intact. How to direct your support.
Gifts at any level may be added to an existing endowment, and the Foundation has established several levels of named endowment.

To establish a named endowment.

  • A named fund may be created in the unrestricted endowment with a gift of $25,000 or more.
  • A named fund may be created for one of our existing restricted endowments with a gift of $50,000 or more.
  • A named endowment restricted for a purpose not currently recognized by the Foundation may be created with a gift of at least $100,000.

Please contact Sara Elward, Director of Gift Planning 206.615.1623 for information on restricted endowments or questions about endowments in general.
